Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Pool Explained processes when you use the site or contact form, why we process it and how to contact us.
Choosing the initial language
When you open the site address without a language prefix, we use your previously selected language first. If you have not chosen one, the server estimates your country from your IP address: visitors in Serbia see Serbian, while other or unknown locations default to English. This estimate can be wrong, particularly when using a VPN, and you can always switch languages. We use a local copy of the DB-IP database without sending your IP address to that service or separately storing it for language selection. Direct links to Serbian or English pages stay in that language.
Information we process
We do not offer public user accounts or a newsletter. Our hosting and security systems may record technical information such as an IP address, request time, browser type and requested page, as needed to operate and protect the site.
When you submit the contact form, we process your name if provided, email address, chosen topic and message. The message is sent to our editorial email address and is not added to the site's public content.
Why we process information
We process technical information to deliver, protect and troubleshoot the site. We use contact messages to respond to enquiries, investigate reported errors or discuss collaboration.
We do not sell personal data or use it for profiling. We share information with hosting and email providers only as needed to operate the site and deliver messages.
How long we keep information
We keep contact messages for as long as needed to respond, follow up on arrangements or protect against misuse, then delete or anonymise them within a reasonable time. Hosting logs are retained according to the provider's policies and security requirements.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate information, deletion where appropriate, restriction of processing or raise an objection. Send your request to contact@poolexplained.com from the email address concerned.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when we introduce a feature, analytics, advertising or an external service, or change how we process information. The current version is always available on this page.
