Calculator

Estimate your seasonal running costs

Enter your own electricity, water, chemical and servicing prices. The operating values shown are examples, not recommendations. Change them to match your pool. Enter zero for any cost that does not apply.

Use the same currency for every price. Changing the currency changes the labels only; it does not convert the amounts.

Outside the basic total

What the estimate does not include

Heating

A heat pump, electric heater or other heating system can be a substantial separate expense and is not included in this basic total.

Initial filling

The calculator includes monthly top-ups, not the first full fill or exceptional draining and refilling.

Major repairs

Replacing a pump, filter, liner or cover, or repairing the pool structure, is not routine seasonal maintenance.

Your time

Cleaning, testing, buying supplies and supervising work take time even when you do not pay someone else to do them.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why are prices not filled in already?

Tariffs, water charges, products and service prices vary by location and change over time. Your own bills and local quotes provide a more useful estimate.

Is pump power the same as energy use?

Multiplying electrical input power by operating time gives a simplified energy estimate. Actual consumption and tariff calculations can differ.

Are chemical costs proportional to pool volume?

Volume matters, but so do water quality, use, sunlight, cover use, filtration and product choice. Enter your own monthly estimate.

How should I use the result?

Create low, expected and high estimates by changing hours, prices and seasonal allowances. Plan a budget range rather than relying on one exact figure.
